DARBY – A Lacey Dolcater free throw with almost no time remaining lifted Darby over St. Regis in a nonconference Class C girls’ basketball game on Saturday, 54-53.

St. Regis fouled Dolcater while shooting a 3-pointer with 0.1 seconds on the clock of a tied game after Darby had already made up a 46-37 deficit in the fourth quarter. Her first two free throws were off the mark, but the junior sank the third to hand Darby (6-2) the narrow victory.

She finished with six points while Lauren Dolcater had 19 to lead the team.

Pilar Cantrell-Field led St. Regis (5-3) with 17 points and Arianna Jones had another 12 in the loss.

The Tigers boosted their District 13-C record to 4-0 with the win at the Eagles’ gym.

Darby (5-1 overall) made its move in the second quarter with a 24-16 run. The Tigers then salted away the game with a 10-1 run in the third period.

Lacey Dolcater scored 21 points and Lauren Dolcater 14 to lead the visitors. Linnea Hill had 15 points for Valley Christian (1-3 conference, 2-4 overall).

At Darby, the Tigers rolled to a 25-7 halftime lead on their way to a big District 13-C victory.

Sarai McCollaum scored 13 points for Darby (3-0 in league, 4-1 overall) and the Dolcaters were each in double digits scoring as well with Lauren netting 12 and Lacey 10.

Anna Pence scored the majority of the points for the Prospectors (1-2, 2-3) with 15.

At Victor, the Tigers hit a pair of free throws with under a minute to play to edge past the Pirates in a District 13-C contest.

Siri Nojd and Lauren Dolcater shared team-high scoring honors for Darby with 11 points apiece. Keely Ehmann added 10 points for the Tigers, who moved to 1-0 in league play, 2-1 overall.

Victor (0-1, 0-3) was led by Ryanne Tracy with 18 points. The Pirates had a chance to knot the game or go ahead as time was running out but failed to get off a shot in turning the ball over.

At Lincoln, Lauren Dolcater exploded for 13 points in the third quarter, nine coming on three triples, in leading the Tigers to the Western 13-C win.

The game was knotted at 16-16 at intermission. Darby went on a 23-7 run in the third period and cruised from there.

Dolcater finished with 18 points to lead all scorers. Keely Ehmann chipped in 14 for the Tigers (2-0 conference, 3-1 overall).

Cailey DenBoer led Lincoln (0-1, 1-3) with 12 points.
